Testimonials from participating dentists
The Full Mouth Mastery Program has a very specific objective: to teach you the concepts and methods of the Physiologically Guided Treatment System (PGTS).

All treatment — from the simplest to most complex — involves three phases: evaluation, planning, and treatment. The PGTS guides you through each of these phases with unique and, in many ways, unconventional concepts and methods.

However, this system is not intended to guide all types of dental treatments. Rather, it is designed to guide those who bring change to one or more of the following patient issues:
-
Functional, Occlusal, or Biomechanical Problems
-
Tooth Structural or Restorative Needs
-
Aesthetics

— issues that are abundantly present and that I find the most enjoyable and rewarding to treat!

In this hands-on program, you will learn the concepts and develop the clinical skills needed to implement the PGTS into your practice — for dentistry that looks better, feels better, and lasts longer!
Simply stated, there is no other program like this in dentistry. Whether you are an experienced dentist, dental specialist, or recent graduate, if you aspire to do this type of dentistry, this program is a must for you.
Below are brief descriptions of the goals of each program level. As you will see, each program level addresses one of the three phases of treatment.
About The Full Mouth Mastery Program

Level 1 · Level 2 · Level 3
Level 1: Patient Evaluation
All patient care begins with evaluation. The focus of Level 1 is on the role of the DATA® Appliance in evaluation. In this level, you first learn how to use the DATA® Appliance to gather invaluable information regarding:

1. The patient’s most physiologic, stable, and comfortable condylar position, masticatory muscle function, and occlusal relationships
2. The patient’s parafunctional activity type, magnitude, and cause
3. The patient’s TM-Joint orthopedic status and stability
4. A determination of whether or not jaw, head, facial, neck, or shoulder pain is the result of TM-Joint or occlusal issues
5. The psychosocial status of the patient (Do they have reasonable/achievable expectations? Am I able to meet these expectations?)

Next, you learn how to use the DATA® Appliance to record the relationship of the upper and lower arches to each other when:
1. The Masticatory Muscles are functioning in their most physiologic manner
2. The TM-Joints are in their most stable and comfortable position within the fossae (what we define as “Home”)

Once you have recorded and verified this relationship (Verified Mounted Casts), you are able to Predictably Plan the types of treatments for which the PGTS was designed — whether it is a simple occlusal adjustment (RedAddibration, more on this in Level 3), a full mouth restorative/aesthetic reconstruction, or anything in between!

"I never trusted anyone else because I saw the flaws in what they were trying to do. And Dr. Hegyi actually got it. He figured it out.
And if you follow step by step, you will too." - Dr. Paul Heinrichs
Level 2: Predictable Treatment Planning
Verified Mounted Casts (from Level 1) are the starting point for true, predictable treatment planning! It goes without saying that details of this planning are impacted by a patient’s unique issues and type of treatment(s) being considered. However, for any type of treatment that the PGTS is designed to guide, planning always begins with choosing a proper Vertical Dimension of Occlusion (VDO).

In Level 2, you begin by learning how to make this critical decision:
-
First, in cases with no restorative or aesthetic issues
-
Then, in cases with restorative and/or aesthetic issues
For me personally, this was one of the most challenging concepts to master. But after taking Level 2, you will be able to make this important decision with confidence!

Next, you learn how to create an optimal occlusal design for cases with restorative or aesthetic issues. This occurs when functional tooth relationships and interactions are in harmony with the most physiologic activity of the masticatory muscles, along with the condyles being in their most comfortable and stable positions within their fossae (“Home”). Doing this ensures that your dentistry is both comfortable and long-lasting!

Finally, you learn how to do all the above while also creating the best smile possible — a smile that is not only beautiful, phonetically proper, and in harmony with the “Required Envelope of Function”, but also looks great, allows unaltered speech, and protects the posterior teeth — all without damaging the anterior teeth (or restorations)!

"The system that Dr. Hegyi developed, I think, should be the standard for how dentistry is performed — especially complex dentistry."
- Dr. Michael Morgan
Level 3: Treatment
Ultimately, this is what the Full Mouth Mastery Program is all about! I need to begin this level’s description by stating that, in the past (using previous methods and concepts), this was when I became uneasy. "Was everything going to work out as I hoped and planned, or were there going to be unexpected (and unpleasant) experiences waiting for me?" If you apply what you were taught in Levels 1 and 2, along with what you learn in this level, you need never experience this uncertainty or stress again!

The first learning objective of this level is for you to understand the rationale, objectives, and clinical skills of RedAddibration — the concurrent use of reductive and additive reshaping to create a Stable Biomechanical Foundation.

In this program level, you start by learning how to create a Stable Biomechanical Foundation on a patient who has no extensive restorative or aesthetic issues. From there, you have two paths to choose from:
-
Choose path one, and your journey with this program ends — being able to create a Stable Biomechanical Foundation for these types of patients
-
Choose path two, and move on to advanced restorative sessions, where you choose a patient who has extensive restorative/aesthetic needs
Choosing path two, you will:
-
Create a Stable Biomechanical Foundation that is done in a manner consistent with this patient’s restorative and aesthetic issues
-
Perform the necessary tooth preparations and impressions on the patient (either at your office or at our facility)
-
Seat and adjust your restorations under our supervision

In either case, once you master RedAddibration, I can assure you that your life, your practice, and the quality of life of your patients will be forever changed!
